Gustav Heinrich Martel founded the winery of the same name in 1869, and in 1979 Ernest Rapeneau acquired GH Martel. The Rapeneau family has planted vines for 4 generations. Their own 100 hectares of Haute Valeur Environnementale (3rd Class) certified vines are dedicated exclusively to the production of GH Martel Champagne. The winery has also developed strong relationships with passionate grape growers over the years. These partners have a supply contract of 200 hectares.
