【Vigna Lenuzza】

Vigna Lenuzza comes from Friuli, a region in northern Italy with a long history of different cultures, and is best known for its white wines. Orange wine has become another specialty of this region because of its reputation for white wines. After all, orange wine is simply a white wine made by macerating the peels to extract the tannins from the rinds as well as a special flavor, and it is called orange wine/amber wine because of the amber color it produces. 

Daniele, the owner, is a young and talented winemaker who supports the concept of natural wines and believes that the style of orange wines can more fully express the characteristics of the local native grapes. After all, the skins are part of each grape, and the most natural way to extract the most complete flavors, and to control the maceration time not too much (8-15 days), with a minimum degree of dryness, so that everyone can feel the beauty of the grapes and the terroir, and this is his philosophy. His philosophy is to extract the fullest flavors in the most natural way possible and to control the maceration time (8-15 days) to a minimum, so that everyone can experience the beauty of the grapes and the terroir.

Daniele Lenuzza describes his style as infusion rather than extraction, that is, he does not emphasize long maceration/intense extraction, but rather slow, gentle, and just the right amount of molecules in the wine, without over-intervention, and without a strong barrel element (three of the oranges are made in an egg-shaped concrete tank, which preserves the pure flavors of the grapes), while the egg-shaped concrete tank keeps the grapes in their original state. (the three orange wines are made in egg-shaped concrete tanks, to maintain the pure flavor of the grapes, while the egg shape can cause circulation flow inside the tanks, and more natural contact with the lees, making the wines more harmonious and complex), low sulfur, to reflect the terroir of Friuli and the original appearance of the native grapes as much as possible.


Like his Indigenously series of Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana, Friulano orange wines, the maceration is only for 15 days at most, the color and tannins are not as much as traditional orange wines, and it can be said that there is not much funkiness, adhering to the cleanliness of Friuli wines, the characteristics of the original grapes and his own not too much, not too less.


Ribolla Gialla is fermented in egg-shaped fermentation tanks with temperature-controlled peel maceration for 10 days, followed by 12 months of aging in egg-shaped fermentation tanks and 12 months of bottle aging to fully express the freshness of Ribolla Gialla.
