The debut vintage for La Gomerie, the 1995 LePin-look-alike is showing fabulously well after bottling. The color is denseruby/purple, and the nose offers up exotic aromas of Asian spices, soy, coffee,and ripe berry/cherry fruit. This full-bodied, thick, unctuously-textured wineis marvelously concentrated, with plenty of sweet, well-integrated tannin. The acidityis low, which only adds to the voluptuous personality of this strikingly rich,head-turning effort.

Better on the nose than the palate with its earthy,dark chocolate, plum, mushroom and black cherry nose. The wine is soft intexture, but there is a dryness to the tannins that is peeking through into thefinish that mars the finish, giving the wine a slight brawny quality. I’d drinkthis sooner than later to retain the remaining fruit.

酒莊面積僅有6.2公頃La Gomerie是右岸很聖艾美隆的列級酒莊,與一級B等中的鼎尖酒莊Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot及Joanin Becot同屬一個釀酒家族,實力絲毫不亞於那些著名的列級莊!土壤以黏土和沙質爲主。酒莊聘請著名“飛行釀酒師”Michel Rolland擔任釀酒顧問,採用100%梅洛釀酒,風格自成一派。年產800箱左右,國際市場上也極少見。酒莊亦推出副牌酒,“Mademoiselle La Gomerie”,產量同樣相當稀少。
