口感:接近$400 的價錢買一支智利酒聽落可能會令人卻步,但事實上智利酒近年在國際間都享負盛名,好多高質素的酒好似Almaviva ,Sena, 都要接近$1000!! 而El principal 的背景亦有D似Almavia, 都係🇫🇷波爾多Grand Cru Classes 烈級酒莊莊主來到智利發展新的葡萄園,實現夢想!呢支Andetelmo 係El Principal 最頂級⬆的酒款,採用最優質的Cabernet Sauvignon, 來自超過45年的老樹,令到強大的酒體與酸度,果味融合,亦因為咁,產量特別少,只有12500支,係非常驚人的數字,意味著極精品~ Packing 上除了好似寶箱的6支裝木箱外,酒樽特別高,厚,特別重,能夠更保護支酒葡萄園的高度係800 米,比一般智利莊園的高,日夜溫差較大,有15度以上,所以你會聞倒黑加侖子果味好似果Jam 咁濃郁但入口一D都吾膩,有別於一般只推崇Fruity的智利酒,令支酒更添一份優雅,紫羅蘭花香和香草 香氣方面仲有朱古力,好似棉花糖,牛油~ 由30mins, 60 mins, 到90 mins 都有明顯的變化~ 這種變化係一般智利酒做吾倒的!醒酒後90mins 係最岩飲的,口感上會feel 倒一種 “柔”,一種波爾多右岸的“柔”,莊主Jean Paul Valette亦正正來自Saint-Émilion 烈級莊Chateau Pavie,所以無論背景和葡萄組合,呢支Andetelmo 都彷彿留流著法國波爾多烈級莊的血~
口感上當然亦有變化,開頭酸度略為不足,到後期稍為增加至足夠撐起酒體到;單寧由太緊到後期展開令回甘廷長至10秒以上~ 10秒之中,頭段有種Syrah 帶來的輕微刺激,中段黑加侖子,感覺倒甜度,未段係牛油 (正頭好似牛油焗帶子的feel),咖啡,酒體絕對係厚身,Full Body, Full body的酒吾難做, 但要做到“柔”,確係要多方面配合,包括45年樹齡,20個月的木桶,限量12500支,2年額外酒樽陳存,800米高度的葡萄園…. 難怪各酒評家都給預咁高評價,智利酒中非常少見!!

“El Principal has 90 hectares of vineyards in one of the highest parts of Pirque, 700–900 meters a.s.l. It’s planted primarily to cabernet sauvignon, and the cabernet from Pirque has a very special character that’s less menthol than Peñalolén’s cabernet with a fruitier side that’s more focused on the variety’s blue fruit. And the texture is very smooth and very elegant. This wine has a tremendous backdrop of fruit, and you can see how it opens on the palate, how it evolves to more earthy places. A wine to open a decade from now.”

The blend of the 2014 El Principal Andetelmo varied slightly, to 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Syrah, and the amount of new oak lowered slightly, to 65% new (instead of 70%). There's more difference here between 2013 and 2014 than in the Memorias, and even if this feels riper, it also feels very complete and balanced, powerful but with the ingredients to develop nicely in bottle. For comparison, I tasted the 2001, which is a very good vintage in the zone even if then the wines were riper and oakier; the wine is still very much alive and kicking. So, there's no reason why this 2014 shouldn't develop in a similar fashion. As I saw with the Memorias, the two vintages have a similar quality, but today I'd give the edge to the 2013 because of the freshness. 12,500 bottles were filled in February 2016.
