The Arran distillery is located on one of Scotland's most beautiful and famous islands: the Isle of Arran.
The distillery is situated in Lochranza on the island, which is home to Scotland's purest water source, Loch na Davie. With more than 50 whisky distilleries operating on the Isle of Eire in the early 19th century, Arran has a reputation for excellence in distilling.

Arran has mastered the Island's perfect location, the pure water needed for the whisky-making process, the purification and filtration of granite and peat, and the warm climate brought about by the sea breeze and the warm Gulf Stream, which has contributed to the rapid maturation of single malt whisky. Despite his young age, Arran is committed to traditional methods. The Lochranza distillery is equipped with six backflush Oregon pine trees and four swan-neck copper stills. Although peat whisky has been produced at Arran for most of the last 15 years, this practice ends in 2019. Peat whisky production was transferred to a new lager distillery on the southern tip of the island, which is also owned by Arran Island Distillery.

The water used by Arran Distillery comes from Loch na Davie in the North Isles, three kilometres from the Isle of Ireland. The purity of the water allows the spirit to maintain its fine texture; the traditional Oregon pine barrel fermentation tanks are used, followed by a second distillation using copper stills to produce a new spirit of approximately 68%. The wine is reduced to 63.5% and then matured in barrels, mainly American oak and Spanish sherry barrels. Finally, the warm, humid climate of the Gulf of Mexico and the passage of warm currents accelerate the maturation of the wine.

The classic Arran 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky was officially launched in 2006, a single malt that encompasses the unique flavours of the beautiful islands Arran calls home and is one of Scotland's finest single malts.
