Winery

As early as the 17th century, Andrea Bottega, an ancestor of the Bottega family, planted grapes near the heart of the Prosecco wine region. By the 1920s, the third-generation descendant, Domenico Bottega, had become a highly renowned wine merchant and winemaking expert in the area.

Domenico's son, Aldo Bottega, inherited this passion for winemaking. Aldo, a master distiller with over 30 years of experience, officially founded Distilleria Bottega in 1977 with his wife, Rosina, in Pianzano, north of Venice, primarily producing traditional Italian grappa brandy.

In 1983, founder Aldo tragically passed away at a young age. His eldest son, Sandro Bottega, only 19 years old, took over the distillery with the help of his mother and siblings. He implemented innovative distillation techniques, reducing the alcohol content of the brandy to make it smoother and more refined, successfully gaining recognition.

Sandro recognized the power of packaging. In 1987, he founded the Alexander brand, combining traditional Venetian hand-blown glassmaking with winemaking, using exquisitely artistic glass bottles to package the spirits, revolutionizing the then-stagnant liquor market and successfully capturing the hearts of young and female consumers.

In 1992, the winery officially expanded from distilled spirits to wine, launching Prosecco sparkling wine called "Il Vino dei Poeti" (Poet's Wine), officially announcing its entry into the sparkling wine market.

Bottega sparkling wine boasts an incredibly beautiful bottle design, not only aesthetically pleasing but also exceptionally high-quality. The entire Bottega winery has received over 450 awards. Bottega is available in over 160 countries worldwide (including duty-free shops and airlines you may have flown with). According to IWSR rankings, as of 2022, Bottega Gold was the best-selling sparkling wine in travel retail.

Bottega Rose Gold alone has garnered numerous awards. According to IWSR rankings, Bottega Gold has been the second best-selling sparkling wine in travel retail since 2017.

Spritz is a historic Italian cocktail closely linked to the Habsburg dynasty's rule over the Kingdom of Lombardy-Veneto. We drew inspiration from our own Bottega Spritz to create this lemon Spritz.

Bottega Spritz is a cocktail made with sparkling wine and lemon liqueur. A cocktail based on limoncino and mint leaves. The Lemon Spritz is a ready-to-drink cocktail with a low alcohol content because it uses only lemon infusion, not limoncino.

Its refreshing and pleasant taste makes it a fresh take on the traditional Spritz.

Water Recycling - Saving 5 Million Liters of Water Annually

In 2014, the Bottega winery introduced a new water recycling system. Water used during distillation is cooled by special fans and transported through a closed-loop system. This solution significantly reduces water consumption throughout the process, estimated to save 5 million liters of water annually.

Organically Cultivated Vineyards

Cultivated according to organic farming standards. Therefore, the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, genetically modified organisms, and their derivatives is prohibited. Bottega uses only organic fertilizers to provide nutrients, improve soil fertility and structure, and avoids absorbing 500 kg of synthetic chemicals annually.

RafCycle Program - Recycling 50 Tons of Waste Annually

In 2018, Bottega joined UPM Raflatac (a global label material supplier)'s RafCycle program to recycle label waste. Silicone paper used as label release paper is recycled and sent to UPM's paper mill in Pratt, Germany, for new cellulose, thus becoming paper. This program means that approximately 50 tons of waste can be recycled annually.

Polyethylene Recycling - Recycling 16 Tons Annually

Since 2021, Bottega has been recycling polyethylene used by glass factories to package empty bottles. The material will be converted into stretch film, with a recycling volume of approximately 16 tons per year (over 70 kg per day), which will be used on 35,000 Bottega products.
