Chateau Malescot St-Exupery is located in the Margaux production area on the left bank of Bordeaux. It was acquired by Simon Malescot (then a councilor of King Louis XIV of France) in 1697 and named the winery Chateau Malescot after himself. After the Malescot family managed the winery for a century, it split and changed hands. In 1827, it was purchased by Count Jean-Baptiste St-Expéry. The count decided to change its name to Chateau Malescot St-Expéry in memory of his great-grandfather Antoine de Saint-Expéry, a pilot and writer. It was classified as a third-level winery in the 1855 Bordeaux Classified Winery. Other third-level wineries in the same production area include Chateau Palmer (BMW Winery) and Chateau Giscours (Mermaid Castle).

After changing owners several times and experiencing the economic crisis in the early 20th century, the winery began to decline. In the 1930s, due to World War II, it even became a dilapidated and abandoned manor. After the war, the Zuger family began to rebuild the vineyard with their passion for Bordeaux winemaking, so that the manor could produce fine wines worthy of the title of a third-level winery in a short period of time. To this day, the Zuger family still manages the estate. The new owner is Jean-Luc Zuger. Under his management, they continue to produce world-famous wines.
The winery's vineyards are located in two mainly gravel areas in the Margaux area, consisting of five scattered plots. Two of the vineyards are located directly to the north and west of Chateau Margaux, with a total area of 28 hectares. The surrounding surface layer is dominated by a 2-10 meter thick gravel layer, extending along the gentle slope to the mouth of the Gironde River (Gironde), while the underlying soil is marl and marl clay formed in the Tertiary Period. In some places, it is an iron layer, or "sandstone layer." The average age of the grapevines in the garden is 35 years, and some old vines are more than 50 years old. The planting density is 10,000 plants/hectare, and the average yield is about 5,000-6,000 liters/hectare. Currently, the main proportions of grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon about 50%, Merlot 35%, Carbernet Franc 10% and Petit Verdot 5%.

The winery hired the famous "flying winemaker" Michel Rolland as a winemaking consultant. Chateau Malescot St-Exupery wines undergo alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled vats without the addition of additional yeast or other additives. Then when aged, it is aged in new oak barrels for 14-16 months. Chateau Malescot St-Exupery wine has rich red berry and earthy aromas, known for its attractive raspberry and violet aromas, silky texture, rich and balanced wine, refined and elegant, round and concentrated tannins, good expression, spices and blackcurrant flavors accompanied by balanced and pleasant acidity.
