Yoichi Yoichi is located in Yoichi-cho, Hokkaido, Japan, and is owned by renowned Japanese whiskey producer Nikka Whiskey Distilling.

Bamboo Crane is said to have decided on the location of Yoichi Distillery with reference to the geographical location of Hazelburn Distillery, as he believed that the climate and natural features of northern Japan were extremely similar to those of Scotland. Finally, he found a very suitable place in Yuichi-cho, located at 43.2°N. Close to the sea and surrounded by mountains on three sides, the place is in many ways similar to the Highlands highland area of Scotland. The climate is cold, with moderate humidity, with fresh air and clear water. Nearby is Japan's largest peat land, special landforms and the influence of swamp degradation created Ishikari peat, providing a distinctive smoky flavor for the malt, this small town has few private residential areas, only a lonely wilderness overgrown with weeds, and vast barley fields. The blowing sea breeze also brings some distinctive flavors to Yuichi whiskey. These are all the elements that Masataka Taketsuru ideally needs to produce whiskey, and despite the inconvenience, Masataka Taketsuru firmly believes that this is the best place to brew whiskey.
