【酒莊 Winery】

Founded in the early 20th century (around the early 1900s), Cantina Museo Albea is one of the oldest and most representative wineries in the region.

The Latin origin of "Albea": The winery's name "Albea" is an abbreviation of the Old Latin name for Alberobello, Silva Arboris Belli (Forest of the Fighting Trees), symbolizing the ancient history and foundation of this land.

In the 21st century, the winery launched the "AlbeaLand" quality upgrade project, implementing standardized management of vineyards in the Valle d'Itria and surrounding areas, strictly controlling yields and meticulously harvesting.

In recent years, the winery has actively promoted the conversion to organic farming (Biologico) and the application of solar photovoltaic facilities, committed to protecting the ecological environment and terroir of the Valle d'Itria while preserving its centuries-old craftsmanship.

The winery is located in Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage town in Puglia, the home of the famous "Trulli" (mushroom-shaped stone houses).

The main structure of the winery, built in the early 20th century, is entirely constructed of heavy stone. Underground, there are ancient underground wine vats (Cisterne incavate nella roccia) carved directly into the rock, providing a natural environment with constant temperature and humidity for winemaking and aging. The upper level houses a dedicated wine museum, housing a large collection of traditional Southern Puglia viticultural tools, antique presses, and agricultural artifacts. It showcases the century-long history of the region's evolution from traditional manual farming to modern winemaking techniques, making it a landmark attraction for local cultural heritage and tourism.

Enjoying the abundant Mediterranean sunshine and mild climate, the soil, primarily composed of mineral-rich limestone and Terra Rossa, is ideal for grapes to accumulate rich fruit aromas and sugars. The winery implements strict vineyard management standards, rigorously controlling yields and meticulously managing pruning and harvesting to ensure that each wine truly expresses the original flavors of Puglia.
