Bottega is a family winery, originally established by a Domenico Bottega (grandpa) wine merchant. I am a passionate winemaker who likes to study and brew a kind of wine called Grappa (that is, a spirit distilled from sun-dried grape skins)

Aldo Bottega inherited his father's (Domenico Bottega) enthusiasm for Grappa, developed a set of creative techniques, and started the first single-variety Grappa wine. Entrepreneurial spirit led him to build his own winery.

So a winery named Distilleria Bottega was born because of this

After Aldo Bottega passed away in 1983, Aldo Bottega’s sons, including the elder Sandro, Barbara and the younger Stefano, joined Distilleria Bottega. It was the first Prosecco of the Bottega family launched in 1992.

Water recycling

Save 5 million liters of water per year

In 2014, the Bottega winery introduced a new water circulation system. The water used in the distillation process is air-cooled by special fans and conveyed through a closed loop system. This solution significantly reduces water consumption throughout the process. An estimated 5 million liters of water can be saved annually.

Organically grown vineyards

Grown according to organic farming standards. As such, it has banned the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, herbicides, GMOs and derivatives. Bottega soils use only organic fertilizers, which provide nutrients, improve soil fertility and structure, and avoid the uptake of 500 kg of synthetic chemicals per year.

RafCycle Program

Recycling 50 tons of waste per year

In 2018, Bottega joined the RafCycle program left by UPM Raflatac, a global supplier of label materials, to recycle label waste. The siliconized paper used as a label release liner is recycled and sent to UPM's paper mill in Platt (Germany) for new cellulose to become paper. The scheme means that around 50 tons of waste can be recycled each year.

Polyethylene recycling

16 tons recycled per year

Since 2021, Bottega has been recycling the polyethylene used to package empty bottles at glass plants. The material will be converted into stretch film, and the recycling volume will be about 16 tons per year (more than 70 kg per day), which will be used on Bottega's 35,000 samples
