This wine is immediately attractive. Wood aging gives a smoky character to the warm black fruits. Tannins give support and a dry core that will allow the wine to age. Drink from 2023. Roger Voss
【James Suckling 90pts】
Blackberry and black-olive aromas and flavors with some walnut as well. Medium body, integrated tannins and a pretty finish. Better after 2021, but already delicious.

Jean-Dominique is an agricultural engineer (graduated from the French National School of Agricultural Economics in 1989) and a winemaker (graduated from the Bordeaux Institute of Wine Studies in 1991). He has run various wine estates for 25 years: Mr. Jean-Dominique has been working at Chateau Chow Botong for fifteen years. He took the quality of the Zhou Botong winery to a new level, and the same for Ch. Campillot. He described the estate as his "second hobby".
Right Jean-Dominique Videau
Chateau Campillot is a small estate in the Médoc on 9 hectares developed with sustainable agriculture. "Campillot" literally means "small field" and the estate was taken over in 2005 by agricultural engineers Jean-Dominique Videau and Tristan Roze des Ordons. The 2018 Château de Campillo blends two grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The nose is beautifully aromatic, floral and fruity (wild blackberry, raspberry, violet) and spicy (pepper, sweet spice). On the palate it is fruity, balanced and offers minerality, freshness and finely concentrated structure, fat and roundness. The tannins are well integrated and the finish gives us good aromatic length.
