Chateau Couseau is an elegant and refined dry red wine with a charming and feminine style, with excellent balance and harmony. Wine is produced at the eponymous winery, owned by the Yvon Moe company. The wine blend includes traditional Margaux varietals: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Bordeaux wine is traditionally vinified in stainless steel vats. 'Chateau Cuusso' is already excellent at a young age and also has good storage potential.
The estate was purchased by Monsieur Francis Durousseau in 1972 and is currently run by his son Thierry and his wife. Château Cusseau is located in Labarde on 9.5 hectares of gravel soil planted with noble grape varieties. The vineyard is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. The vines are handcrafted with green harvesting, bud removal and leaf stripping to limit yields (50 to 55 liters per hectare). Thierry Durousseau was both a farmer and a winegrower. "The cow powers the vine, and I power the vine. I'm as passionate and fascinated by wine as I am by animals."
