Château Boucherton, with nearly 300 years of history, is one of the few wineries in the Médoc region of Bordeaux that has maintained a family-run business model for so long.

Currently, the winery is owned and operated by the Saintout Family. In Saint-Julien, an appellation almost entirely dominated by large classified growths and corporations, the Saintout Family has consistently maintained independent operations, preserving the family spirit and heritage of the winery.

The winery is located in the northwest of the Saint-Julien-Beychevelle appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux, France, near renowned wineries such as Château Beychevelle. The soil is predominantly gravelly, typical of Bordeaux.

Saint-Julien is roughly rectangular in shape, with 910 hectares of vineyards, representing 6% of the total vineyard area in the Médoc. The planting density is at least 6,500 vines per hectare (2,631 vines per acre), and the appellation produces 6.5 million bottles. The overall terroir is similar, with only slight climatic differences due to its proximity to the Gironde delta. The main grape varieties planted are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, with some Carmenere, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. The soil here is entirely gravelly, with a poor surface, but this gravelly soil encourages the vines to root deep into the ground. The subsoil consists of pebbles, sandstone, and marl, which is particularly conducive to the growth of Cabernet Sauvignon, making it the dominant grape variety in the region. With Cabernet Sauvignon as the main grape, complemented by Merlot and occasionally Cabernet Franc, the wines here blend power, elegance, and feminine grace, making them ideal for aging. They exhibit the strength of Pauillac as well as the softness of Margaux.

Certified by France with HVE 3 (the highest level of environmental value) and Terra Vitis sustainable agriculture, this wine is grown in an environmentally friendly manner while preserving its terroir.

During harvesting, a rigorous multi-stage manual selection process (Tri) is employed, and the wine is aged in approximately two-thirds new French oak barrels to ensure the quality and concentration of each bottle.

The wine's style is often described as "combining the elegance and delicacy of Margaux with the grand structure of Pauillac."
