Domaine Dujac is one of the most renowned and iconic top-tier estates in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis. The estate is celebrated worldwide for its innovative use of whole-cluster fermentation and for producing wines characterized by elegance and complexity.
The estate takes its name from its founder, Jacques Seysses; the French phrase "Domaine de Jacques" gradually evolved into the concise "Dujac."
Jacques Seysses founded the estate in 1968. Originally employed in his family's food business, he was driven by a passion for wine to pursue his dream in Burgundy, where he apprenticed under established winemakers. Today, the estate is managed by the second generation: Jacques's eldest son, Jeremy Seysses; his daughter-in-law, Diana Snow (an accomplished winemaker); and his younger son, Alec Seysses.

Clos de la Roche is situated in the northern part of Morey-Saint-Denis. Nestled between the renowned villages of Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, the wine perfectly embodies a blend of the former's noble structure and the latter's elegant finesse.
The word "Roche" (meaning "rock" in French) refers to the exposed limestone fragments found throughout the vineyard. The site features a very thin layer of brown clay resting atop a bedrock of Jurassic marl and hard Oolitic limestone. The soil is shallow and offers excellent drainage, forcing the vine roots to penetrate deep into rock crevices to absorb minerals.
Located on an east-facing slope at an altitude of approximately 250 to 300 meters, the vineyard benefits from abundant morning sunlight, allowing the grapes to achieve ideal ripeness while retaining excellent acidity.

Dujac is one of the pioneers of whole-cluster fermentation in Burgundy, utilizing between 65% and 100% whole clusters depending on the vintage. The stems impart additional floral notes (such as rose and aromatic herbs) and spicy nuances to the wine, while also contributing a more elegant acidic structure and exceptionally silky tannins.
The estate has practiced organic viticulture since 2001 and transitioned to biodynamic farming in 2008, placing a strong emphasis on maintaining ecological balance and soil health within the vineyards.
While a higher proportion of new oak was used in the past, the style has been adjusted in recent years; the percentage of new oak for Grand Cru wines is typically kept between 50% and 70% to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of terroir.
