【Distillery】

Established in 1836 in Dijon, Burgundy, Maison Edmond Briottet is an independent, family-owned distillery spanning six generations and a renowned authority in the realm of French fruit liqueurs. Originally founded as a wine trading business, the company began producing blackcurrant liqueur in 1841. It gained global acclaim for its *Crème de Cassis de Dijon* and is the definitive producer associated with the classic Kir cocktail; it also holds the prestigious French "Living Heritage Company" (EPV) certification.
In the early 20th century, Edmond Briottet took over the business, formally established the brand name, and solidified the core technique of fruit maceration and extraction. From the 1940s onwards, the distillery shifted its focus entirely to liqueur development, gradually phasing out its wine operations. Today, the company is managed by siblings Claire and Vincent Briottet. Its product line has expanded to over 60 flavors, with exports reaching nearly 30 countries. A long-standing supplier to world-class hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, and professional bars, Briottet is recognized within the bartending community as a premium liqueur brand.
Briottet insists on using fresh, optimally ripened fruit sourced globally and employs a prolonged, low-temperature maceration process—lasting up to 75 days—to extract natural fruit aromas using high-purity neutral alcohol. This distinguishes their products from the artificial flavorings common in mass-market alternatives. The distillery utilizes small-batch production to precisely control sugar levels and flavor balance, offering two main product lines—standard Liqueurs and *Crèmes* (richer, higher-sugar liqueurs)—to meet diverse mixing and tasting needs.
【Tasting Note】
On the nose, the aroma is dominated by fresh lychee pulp, accompanied by delicate notes of rose water and jasmine, with a light tropical fruit undertone; the scent is authentic and pure, free from the cloying quality often found in cheap artificial flavorings. On the palate, it delivers the flavor of fresh, juicy lychees with a soft, balanced sweetness that never cloys. Delicate floral notes permeate the mouth, accompanied by a smooth texture and a crisp, clean finish that perfectly preserves the fruit's natural, succulent character.
It is highly versatile, serving as the premier choice for crafting the classic Lychee Martini. It also pairs beautifully with Prosecco or Champagne for sparkling cocktails, works well mixed with soda water or served neat over ice, and complements a range of Asian and Western desserts, such as fruit tarts and mousses.
