Winery

Franck Balthazar was founded in 1931 by the grandfather of the former owner, Casimir Balthazar. When Franck took over, he owned only two hectares of vineyards: one hectare with 40-year-old vines and the other with 100-year-old vines. The winery currently covers 4 hectares, with an annual production of approximately 15,000 bottles.

Francck Balthazar is one of the few wineries in the Rhône region to be certified organic. Due to its consistently high-quality wines, the winery received a second star (out of a possible three stars) from La Revue du Vin de France (France's leading wine magazine). It is perhaps one of the best value wineries in the Northern Rhône.

Region

Limestone, clay, and small white stones are the foundation of Franck Balthazar's Côtes-du-Rhône, which comes from an area of approximately three hectares near the renowned Vinsobres appellation. It is a blend of approximately 75% Syrah and 25% Grenache, both organically grown.
