The 2016 Meursault Genevrieres ler Cru has a really tensile, focused and complex bouguet with flint and smokearomas. Traces of Granny Smith and orange pith emerge with time. The palate is very well balanced with just atouch of reduction, fresh and crisp with superb weight and persistence towards the finish. Superb.

【Winery】

Domaine Buisson Battault is a small-scale winegrower in the village of Meursault, producing only 2,500 cases annually. Current owner Francois joined his father in 1985 and took over the winery in 1991. He has modernized the winery's facilities while maintaining a pure, elegant style that reflects the unique character of the terroir.

【Region】

Meursault, one of the three most renowned Burgundy white wine villages, lies south of Puligny, and its soil is composed of ancient limestone. The wines typically exhibit a golden color, with aromas of toasted almonds, hazelnuts, elderberry, white flowers, ferns, lime, verbena, cream, honey, citrus fruits, and rich minerality. Ripe fruit is beautifully balanced with elegant acidity.

【Winemaking 】

Vintage is made with a minimal percentage of new barrels, with no more than 20% used even for Premier Cru wines. Barrel stirring is also not performed to preserve the true flavors of the terroir. In addition, high-quality wines are aged in tanks for a further six months to achieve optimal flavor balance. François also adjusts vineyard and cellar operations according to the phases of the moon to ensure that each vintage is unique.
