Hibiki is a blended whisky brand owned by Suntory. ‘Blended’ means that Hibiki is a blend of malt whisky and grain whisky.
In addition, Hibiki does not have its own distillery, but rather blends the spirits produced by Suntory distilleries such as Hakushu and Chita, which are Suntory's own brands, to produce a blended whisky, which is usually cheaper than single whisky.
The price of blended whisky is usually lower than that of single whisky, but the experience and skill of the bartender have earned it a high reputation and recognition in the market.

【Hibiki】Whisky is a blended whisky made from the richness of the original spirit, which is produced at three distilleries in different regions, namely Yamazaki Distillery, Japan's first distillery in Kyoto, Shirakushu Distillery in the middle of the forest, and Chita Distillery, which specialises in grain whisky.

Yamazaki Distillery produces mainly aromatic spirits, while Hakushu Distillery produces spirits with a refreshing flavour and soft aroma.
The Chita Distillery produces grain spirits that accentuate the elegant flavours and harmonise the whole, using more than just one type of spirit per distillery.
Sometimes, depending on the judgement of the distiller, a wide range of spirits may be selected, resulting in a whisky that is both complex and subtle.

HIBIKI is a whisky brand launched by Suntory Japan in 1989 to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
The ‘HIBIKI 12 Year Old’ and ‘HIBIKI 17 Year Old’ whiskies in the ‘HIBIKI’ series were very popular, but due to the lack of production of the original whisky, which took a long time to mature, the sale of the whiskies was suspended. As a result, prices have risen many times.

About the origin of the name of Rattle Whisky, the special design of the bottle and the label
The unique 24-sided bottle design of the HIBIKI whisky bottle is derived from the concept of the 24 solar terms, while the label is made from undecorated Echizen washi paper with the word ‘HIBIKI’ printed in calligraphic characters, conveying the world view of Japanese whisky.
The name HIBIKI is derived from the ancient Japanese phrase ‘Harmony between man and nature’. The unique faceted design of the bottle symbolises the changes of time, and the traditional Chinese character ‘HIBIKI’ on the label is written by renowned calligrapher, Tansui Hagino, while the paper is also carefully crafted using historical Echizen washi paper. Even the paper is very sophisticated, using the historic Echizen washi paper.

Known as the ‘Harmonious Malt Symphony’, Harmony 17 Years is a blend of 36 rounded malts aged 17 years or more, giving it a deep, harmonious and mellow flavour. The 24 facets on the crystal bottle represent the 24 hours of the day and the 24 seasons of the year. The preciousness of time, the colourful seasons, and the years of brewing are shown on the bottle. The label is made of high-quality Echizen paper and is written by the renowned Japanese calligrapher Tansue Ogino.
Aroma Characteristics: ‘Harmony’ and “resonance” are the Japanese interpretations of ‘resonance’. Blended with 36 malts that have been matured for more than 20 years at Yamazaki Distillery, Ryo 17 Years has an elegant, serene and profound flavour. A mellow, full-bodied whisky with a rich, lingering finish.
