"Kyoji"Kyojin" means "giant" in Japanese, and it symbolizes the pinnacle of Okinawa whisky craftsmanship and its relentless pursuit of legendary perfection. Just as mythological giants are often seen as possessing incomprehensible powers, whiskies with powerful flavor profiles make for an unforgettable whisky journey.

Made from 100% Indica rice and aged in first-time white oak barrels. Rich in sweet woody aromas and dark fruit flavors, the wine is smooth and has a sweet aftertaste.

Influenced by Okinawa’s tropical climate, the accelerated barrel-aging process creates an intriguing flavor profile and unique taste that captures the essence of the land, its people, and their revered mythology.

Tasting Notes

Smell: Rich sweet cream and caramel aroma, resin aroma, spices from white wood, like bourbon whiskey, rich aroma.

Taste: Sweet, creamy, caramel, toasted wood, liquorice, noticeable spices like cloves and cinnamon, long finish.

Finish: Long, slightly bitter and spicy, thick, sweet and mellow.

The KUJIRA (Japanese for "whale") brand originates from Masahiro Shuzo in Okinawa, Japan. Founded in 1883, the brewery is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Okinawa, and is also the first brewery in Okinawa to obtain ISO9001 certification. The Ryukyu Dynasty granted the Higa family a wine-making license, continuing the Ryukyu Islands' 500-year-old traditional liquor-brewing process.

The brand is named after "whale", which originated from the Ryukyu Sea and is regarded as the guardian of peace and nature. Historically, the Ryukyu Islands have suffered from wars. Local residents regard whales as a symbol of tolerance and freedom, and place their wishes for peace on them.
