Lake Road Wines, located in New Zealand's Gisborne wine region, is a family-owned winery. The winery's first vines were planted in 1975, initially supplying grapes primarily to the renowned New Zealand winemaker, Corbans Wines. In the 1990s, the winery expanded its vineyards and increased its plantings of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. In 2008, Lake Road Wines officially released its first wine. In 2012, Lake Road Group Ltd was established, and the new company began expanding its wine export markets, further reducing its reliance on the highly competitive New Zealand market and sourcing grapes from other premium wine regions across the country. Currently, the winery's wines are exported to numerous countries and regions, enjoying popularity in Australia, the United States, Singapore, and China.

The winery's long-standing experience combined with youthful passion allows it to innovate and adapt to change, creating award-winning, high-quality wines. The winery has now officially released 18 wines in its series, including Lake Way, Kopu, and Stoney River, which are very popular among consumers.

In addition to cultivating grapes in its own vineyards, Lakeway Winery also sources premium grapes from winegrowers in other New Zealand wine regions. These vineyards are located in Gisborne, Marlborough, and Hawkes Bay. Each vineyard is strictly managed according to its unique soil characteristics and terroir to harvest high-quality grapes with rich flavor compounds. The main white grape varieties planted are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Viognier, and Pinot Gris, while the main red grape varieties are Syrah and Pinot Noir.

To prevent fruit oxidation and preserve the purest aromas, the grapes are harvested in the early morning of mid-March when the weather is coolest. The grapes then undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in low-temperature stainless steel tanks. No oak barrels are used for aging throughout the process to best maintain the vibrant and fresh varietal characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc.。
