Franciacorta 產區介紹
Winery

Located in Monticelli Brusati, Brescia, the Lo Sparviere estate spans a total of 60 hectares, with 25 hectares dedicated to vineyards planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate is part of the Agricole Gussalli Beretta (AGB) group, which owns five wineries across Italy. As the group is financially robust—backed by a family business in the firearms industry—it is not driven by purely commercial pressures; consequently, the estates it acquires are selected for their exceptional terroir. For wine enthusiasts, AGB wines offer a consistently reliable and high-quality experience.
Region

The Franciacorta region achieved DOC status in 1967 and was elevated to DOCG status in 1995; despite a history spanning only about fifty years—compared to the more than three centuries of development in Champagne—this region producing aristocratic sparkling wines is certainly capable of challenging the dominance of French Champagne giants. Although the region covers only one-tenth the area of Champagne and over 80% of its production is consumed domestically, high-end Italian restaurants eagerly seek out its wines, making them a staple on their wine lists. The entire Franciacorta region benefits from cool breezes that preserve the grapes' freshness, while soils composed of pebbles, sand, and silt enable the production of sparkling wines with distinct mineral characteristics.
Winemaking

Franciacorta DOCG uses the same process as champagne to brew Sparkling wine, is the traditional method of secondary fermentation in the bottle After the fermentation process is completed, the staff will open the wine cork, use air pressure to spray the yeast and wine lees away, then plug back the wine cork, we hear the above procedure, know to follow this method to brew, labor costs will be very high DOCG has stricter regulations than Champagne
> Ordinary Franciacorta DOCG without vintage: The procedure for secondary fermentation is a minimum of 18 months, which is longer than the minimum 15 months procedure required for secondary fermentation for Champagne.
> Vintage Franciacorta DOCG (i.e. Sparkling introduced this time): Known as “Millesimato”, regulations require that 85% of the grapes must be harvested in the year marked on the label, and after harvesting, it will take at least 30 months before they can be launched on the market.
> Franciacorta Riserva: The highest grade of Franciacorta DOCG, aging longer on the basis of Millesimato, taking a minimum of 60 months after the grapes are harvested to be released to the market!
