Domaine de Long Dai is located in the Qiu Shan Valley appellation of Penglai, Shandong Province, and belongs to Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), the same company as Chateau Lafite Rothschild.

The name "Longdai" embodies the hopes of the Rothschild family, signifying that the winery's wines are a fusion of meticulous cultivation and the exceptional terroir of nature, a harmonious blend of Chinese tradition and modern civilization, and a perfect combination of ancestral experience and avant-garde spirit. "Long" means "exquisitely crafted like jade," and it also refers to a tool used by farmers to pray for a bountiful harvest. Mount Tai in Shandong, as a representative of Chinese civilization, is named "Dai" to pay tribute to the glorious history of the Qilu region, vividly interpreting the ideals embodied in this sacred mountain.

In 2008, Baron de Rothschild & Co. conducted research in several wine regions in China, ultimately deciding on the Qiushan Valley as its location. In 2011, Château Lafite Rothschild planted its first vine. In 2019, the winery released its first vintage. By 2023, Lafite Rothschild had celebrated its 15th anniversary. Inspired by the Confucian classic *The Analects*, "At fifteen, I set my heart on learning," the winery named this year "The Year of Setting My Heart on Learning"—like a young man maturing, Château Lafite Rothschild, rooted in Qiushan Valley, continuously explores the local terroir and winemaking techniques, learning without end and never ceasing its progress.

【有關釀造 Winemaking】

Château Lafite Rothschild red wines are made using traditional Bordeaux methods. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with the winery tailoring the process to each tank based on the characteristics of the grape variety. Fermentation lasts 20 to 26 days, ensuring thorough extraction of tannins and color. To achieve a balance between intensity and freshness, the winemaking team appropriately shortens the maceration time for the Marselan. After malolactic fermentation, the team selects the highest quality portions for blending. The resulting wine then undergoes an 18-month aging period in oak barrels sourced from Baron de Rothschild's Bordeaux cooperage.
