Longmorn 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is matured in American oak casks and hogshead casks. The smooth taste of mango and creamy toffee interweaves with sweet pear and a hint of oak, with a sweet and long finish.
The distillery is located near the River Lossie in Speyside and its founding dates back to 1894, in the late 19th century, when it was founded by founder John Duff. This was the second whisky factory founded by John Duff (he built Glenlossie in 1876 and Longmore No. 2 in 1898, which later became the Benriach Distillery). Over the course of more than a century, the distillery has undergone many changes. The management rights have been transferred. In recent years, the distillery has been operated by Chivas Brothers under the Pernod Ricard Group. The low-key Longmorn still plays an important role in the blending of whiskey in the group. The best-selling products such as Chivas and Royal Salute are Use it. These blended whiskies have very good sales results all over the world, so the demand for Longmorn has always been high.

The distillery was expanded to six stills in 1972 and again to eight in 1974, but its appearance has changed little over the years. Seagram was acquired by Pernod Ricard in 2001 and Longmorn is currently operated by its subsidiary, Kivas Brothers. In 2013, Pernod Ricard built a new brewhouse and fermentation room at Longmorn, equipped with a new Briggslaughter brewhouse and two additional fermentation tanks, increasing production capacity from 3.5 million litres of pure alcohol to 4.5 million litres.
The brewery is equipped with a modern 8.5 ton Briggs full lauter mash tun, and seven of the original eight old stainless steel fermentation tanks (washbacks) have been moved to the new workshop, and three more fermentation tanks have been added. The eight onion-shaped stills were large and had downward-curved lyne arms, the stills were fitted with coolers and the wash stills were fitted with external heat exchangers.
Longmorn uses well water from nearby Burnside, barley from Moray and peat from Mannoch Hill to make its whisky, giving it a strong local flavour. The brewery has a mash tun with a capacity of 8 tons. The ground malt is placed in the mash tun and mixed with well water. The wort is then transferred to the fermentation tank. (Wash Back) for fermentation. Longmorn has four wash stills with a capacity of 16,820 litres each and four spirit stills of varying capacities. Large units and stills in a distillery can react with copper at lower fill levels, which distillers call the "kiss of copper."
The vast majority of Longmorn's malt whiskies are used as bases for blends, particularly Chivas Regal and Royal Salute. It was not until recent years that Longmorn's malt whisky became more popular on the market. It was also the last distillery to switch from direct firing of still bottoms to steam heating (1994). It has a particularly distinct malt character, multiple flavors, and is very smooth and versatile. It can be said to be a great choice for party meals and is especially recommended by malt whisky lovers. The wines of Longmorn Distillery are of excellent quality, soft, full-bodied, sweet and round. Although it is relatively scarce in the market, it still enjoys a high reputation in the whisky industry. By the way, “Longmorn Glenlivet” appeared on the old version of Longmorn whisky’s label, and the meaning is self-evident.
