Very pretty aromas of crushed fruit, with raspberry and blackberry character. Full-bodied, yet fine and silky, with a long, delicious finish. Very balanced red. I can't remember tasting a better Lynch-Moussas.
The history of Chateau Lynch Moussas winery can be traced back to 1610. The winery was called "Domainede Moussas-Bages" at that time, and it was in charge of the Jehan family who owns many estates. In 1728, the Drouillard family acquired Domainede Moussas-Bages. In 1748, Thomas Lynch took over Domaine de Moussas-Bages from his wife Elisabeth Drouillard, and later renamed it Chateau Lynch. In 1835, the Earl of Jean-Baptiste Lynch of the Lynch family died, and the Chateau Lynch was divided into two, becoming the present Chateau Lynch-Moussas and the Chateau Lynch-Moussas. Zhuang (Chateau Lynch-Bages). In 1847, Chateau Lynch-Moussas was owned by the Vasquez family of Spanish wine merchants. Both wineries were selected as the fifth tier in 1855.

In 1919, Jean Casteja acquired Chateau Lynch-Moussas. At that time, Jean Casteja already owned a number of powerful villages such as the second-level villages Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron and Chateau Doisy-Vedrines. Since then, the winery has been in charge of the Casteja family for 100 years. In 1970, Jean Casteja's son Emile Casteja took over the winery, and he set off a wind of change. Under his leadership, ChateauLynch-Moussas updated the vineyards, brewing workshops and wine cellars, enabling the winery to embark on a path of modern development. In the 21st century, Emile Casteja's son Philippe Casteja became the new owner and has been in charge today.
