ZTF981A-Madame Veuve Point Meursault 2022
$620/btl

Madame Veuve Pont was born into a winemaking family. At the age of 26 in 1903, she became a widow. After her husband's passing, she dedicated herself to winemaking while striving to care for her children. She relentlessly pursued excellence, determined to establish herself in a wine industry where female winemakers were largely overlooked. In 1904, she embarked on a six-month voyage to the United States with her family's Burgundy wines to participate in the St. Louis World's Fair. There, she won the “Grand Prix d'Excellence” award! This victory laid the groundwork for her future success.

Situated in the south of the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is an iconic appellation of the great white wines of Burgundy. Its vineyards, ideally oriented on gentle slopes between 230 and 360 meters in altitude, benefit from an exceptional terroir. Thanks to its marl-limestone soils, Meursault produces wines that are both full-bodied, rich, and extremely refined, recognized for their aromatic complexity and their remarkable aging potential.

The excellence of the grapes from this terroir is a true natural heritage. To preserve their purity, we opt for short aging in oak barrels, to reveal their unique character without masking their identity. This approach maintains the balance between aromatic richness and mineral freshness, bringing a natural elegance to this great wine.
A toasted Meursault with vanilla pod, buttered toast, grilled apricot, and lemon curd aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied, ripe, and bold.
