Tasting notes:
(Robert Parker's rating: 95 points)
2019 is the first vintage made entirely from grapes grown at the family’s Oakville vineyard. Deep aroma with hints of blackcurrant, earth and moga coffee. The wine is full-bodied, rich, smooth and easy to drink. The finish is soft and luxurious.
(James Suckling's rating: 94 points)
Rich and slightly sweet, very sexy. Super fine, powdery tannins. It has spices like vanilla, blackcurrants, and hints of roasted red pepper and milk chocolate. The flavors are balanced, integrated and have a long finish. Pure, silky, delightful Napa red wine. Drink now or age.

【With a generous thumbs up from Robert Parker】
“Luc Morlet is not only an excellent winemaking expert, he also knows how to use the French’s superb winemaking skills to interpret California wines and fully express the vitality contained in the local ripe and rich grape berries.” Robert M .Parker), December 2014
The owner Luc Morlet is from a French background and was born in Epernay. Five generations of his family have been grape growers in the Champagne region. The grapes he manages are delicate and delicate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Luc graduated from Ecole Viticole de Champagne and grew up in Burgundy. He completed an MBA in business school, worked at Maison Chanson Pere et Fils, studied with Jacques Boissenot while working at Chateau Dauzac, and worked with Michiel Roland when he was a winemaker at Newton Vineyard in the United States. Therefore, it is not difficult to explain Morlet’s winemaking style. With strong old-world French elements, no wonder Robert Parker commented on Luc Morlet: "Luc Morlet is not only a fabulous winemaking talent, he knows how to bring the French savoir faire of complexity, elegance and precision to the ripe, concentrated, intense fruit of California."
【Winery Background】
Morlet Family Winery is located in St. Helena, California. Luc Morlet is the fifth generation of a French winemaking family who own the winery Pierre Morlet & Fils in the Champagne region of France. Luc left France in 1996 and came to his wife Jodie's hometown, California. The two established a winery together and produced the first vintage in 2006.
Morlet's winemaking philosophy is to reduce intervention and implement Old World style. Fermented with natural yeasts and aged in French oak barrels. The wines produced are both powerful and refined, with the potential to age well, and are favored by fine restaurants around the world.
Cœur de Vallée, as its name suggests, is located in the center of Napa Valley. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc benefit from a warm and mild microclimate and clayey but well-drained gravelly volcanic soil.
