On June 18, 2024, as part of its 90th anniversary celebrations, Nikka announced the launch of a new blended whisky, Nikka Frontier. The whisky is based on the robust and smoky flavor of Yoichi whisky, while increasing the proportion of malt whisky and using non-chill filtration technology to retain more of the whisky's flavor.

The nose offers notes of citrus, wood, slightly smoky peat, toast, spices, and florals, along with the sweetness of pear stewed in rock sugar, resulting in a distinctly sweet aroma. The smooth entry reveals the distinct sweetness of the pear stewed in rock sugar, along with woody notes, spices, and a touch of peat. A hint of bitterness, tinged with citrus peel, adds a finishing touch, providing a refreshing and refreshing flavor within the otherwise sweet wine. The flavors maintain a good body, with a pleasant finish that offers a woody, sweet finish.

【Nikka Whiskey Distilling Co., Ltd.】

Mr. Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whiskey Distilling Co., Ltd., is considered the father of Japanese whiskey. He was the first Japanese to go to Scotland to learn how to make whiskey. After returning to Japan, he assisted Suntory in building the first Yamazaki Distillery in 1924. Later, in 1934, he established his own Yoichi Distillery in Yoichi, Hokkaido, Japan. In the early days of its establishment, Nikka's predecessor, Dainippon Juice Co., Ltd., had financial difficulties and began to produce apple juice produced locally in Yoichi. The product was named "Nippon Fruit Juice".

Currently, the company is owned by Asahi (Asahi Group Holdings). The company name is derived from the transliteration of the predecessor "Dainippon Juice Co., Ltd." abbreviated as "Japanese Juice", and was renamed Nikka Whiskey Distilling Co., Ltd. Currently, Nikka has two distilleries in Japan, the Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido and the Miyagikyo Distillery in Sendai. They produce four different brands of whiskey including Yoichi, Taketsuru, Miyagikyo and Nikka.
