The name "Palatium" originates from Latin and means "palace" (also the etymology of the Pfalz wine region in Germany), and is often used as a brand or series name for German regional wines.

Pfalz, located in southwestern Germany, is the country's second-largest wine region. Benefiting from the shelter of the Rhine Valley and the Haardt Mountains, it boasts one of the warmest and driest climates in Germany. Unlike more northerly regions that produce high-acidity wines (such as Mosel), Pfalz enjoys abundant sunshine, allowing the grapes to reach full ripeness.
