Domaine Henri et Gilles Remoriquet red Burgundies, a 4th generation Domaine based in Nuits Saint Georges with some amazing vineyard holdings and producing some extremely high quality wines.

【Region】

Bourgogne Aligoté is a regional *Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée* (AOC) in Burgundy, France, officially recognized in 1937. It is the only regional AOC in Burgundy dedicated primarily to the Aligoté grape variety, standing in distinct contrast to "Bourgogne Blanc," which is dominated by Chardonnay.

The vineyards of Bourgogne Aligoté exhibit great diversity. Soil types range from clay-limestone—the variety's preferred soil—and Jurassic marl to the granite and metamorphic soils found in parts of the Saône-et-Loire department. Most vineyards are situated on hillsides at elevations between 150 and 400 meters, with a preference for southeast-facing slopes to maximize sun exposure.

The region experiences a cool maritime climate with continental influences, characterized by moderate yet consistent rainfall, an absence of summer drought, and generally cool temperatures. These climatic conditions imbue Aligoté wines with their hallmark high natural acidity and fresh fruit aromas.
