For a refreshing, balanced drink, mix three parts soda water with one part Bourbon Whiskey Without Borders. This ratio allows the rich flavor of bourbon to be fully developed while complementing the crisp taste of soda water.

1. Add ice: First put an appropriate amount of ice cubes in the glass to keep the drink cool.
2. Get the mix right: Pour three parts soda water to one part Whiskey Without Borders over ice.

Milestone Beverages and its innovative product, Stateless. Milestone Beverages is an independent brand developer founded in 2015 by Joe Milner and headquartered in Hong Kong, with a focus on the Asia Pacific market and global ambitions. Milestone Beverages has been working with Damith Weerakoon since 2016. Stateless is their newest brand, which uses molecular technology to recreate specific molecules in the taste, texture, and aroma of historical bourbons. By carefully blending traditionally crafted spirits in the lab, Milestone Beverages can control every aspect of the flavor, from smoke and wood notes to fruits, herbs and spices. The technology, first developed by food tech startup Endless West for Glyph Whiskey in 2018, allows it to taste like long-barrel-aged whiskey, but without the years of aging. The technology makes previously unaffordable whiskies “reproducible”, thereby “democratizing taste”.
Milestone Beverages explains it this way. Stateless first launched a classic blended bourbon (BBW) at 40% ABV, as well as their first-ever Banana Flavored Whiskey (BFW). Milestone Beverages will launch the brand’s whisky in Hong Kong, Asia and Europe in early 2024.
Damith Weerakoon, marketing and operations director at Milestone Beverages, called the launch “a significant moment for the beverage industry”.
Speaking of the brand’s concept, he said: “Stateless was born out of the rich history of the modern circus, when circus members traveled the country, moving from city to city, performing under circus tents. This era was characterized by endless adventure and no fixed home. We are inspired by the nomadic spirit of these circuses, who created miracles wherever they went and brought together the best elements from wherever they could. It contained this sense of freedom, fluidity and ever-evolving wonder, which was once the greatest show on earth. Just as the circus broke boundaries and saw the world as its stage, our bourbon embodies the same fearless, boundary-pushing spirit, inviting you to embark on an unfettered taste journey.
