This Daiginjo from Suzuki Sake Brewery in Yamagata Prefecture is the top of the Lifetime of Happiness lineup, brewed to the Shinsengu Shogakukai specifications with 35% rice-flavored Yamada Nishiki from Hyogo Prefecture, and a bag-hanging shizuku method. The finished product has a refreshing floral and fruity ginjo aroma, with a light fruity sweetness and a slightly astringent taste, and a rounded body.

Suzuki Brewery, which has made a name for itself in recent years with “Lifetime of Happiness,” has had a difficult journey behind it. In fact, the “Lifetime of Happiness” line of brands did not originally belong to Suzuki Brewery, but rather to Toho Brewery in Yamagata Prefecture.

The story goes back to the 2011 Great East Japan 311 Earthquake, Suzuki Brewery was originally located in Nanae Town, Fukushima Prefecture, which was the hardest hit area of the 311 Nuclear Disaster. Not only did the earthquake completely destroy the brewery, but due to the residual radiation indices in Nanae Town, Suzuki Brewery was prohibited from going back to rebuild the brewery, so they had to look for other ways to revitalize the business, and at that moment, due to the fact that there was no one to continue the business of the original Toyo brewery in Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture, the Suzuki Brewery bought out Toyo's shares and also took over the “Lifelong Happiness” brand. Suzuki Brewery bought the shares of Toyo and took over the “Lifetime of Happiness” brand, which has since become what it is today.
