Teacher's Brand was founded in 1863 and is also known as the Perfection of Old Scotch Whiskey. In 1899, the whiskey distillery established another Ardmore pure malt distillery. In addition, it acquired the Glendronach pure malt distillery in 1957, officially forming the "Teacher's Scotch Whiskey" style, with two malts: "Ardmore and Glendronach". Malt whiskey is a blended whiskey with a high proportion of malt as the main body.
The most important features are the perfect sherry aroma provided by Ardmore single malt and Glendronach distillery.

William Teacher discovered the opportunity to allow legal distillation of whiskey in the new "Excise Duty Law" and established the position of brewing "Teacher's Scotch Whiskey" as one of the largest whiskey brands in the world. In 1830, William Teacher obtained a license to sell whiskey from a grocery store in Anderson District, Glasgow. The owner was Agnes MacDonald, the mother of William Teacher's girlfriend. After William Teacher married Agnes, he opened the first "Dram Shop" on Piccadilly Street where customers could stop and enjoy a glass of high-quality whiskey. In 1836, he opened a second store and obtained a license to sell bottled whiskey.

In 1876, William Teacher passed away, and his second son, William Junior, and his brother Adam took over, trying to maintain their father's spirit. The company name is "William Teacher & Sons Ltd". The two sons showed amazing talent in blending Visa cards as soon as they joined the company. Not only did they enhance the liquor store's reputation, they also took away market share from other retailers in bulk blended whiskey. They also began to try to enter the export business, which brought critical growth to the company.
Until now, the company has relied on raw whiskey from external whiskey distilleries, but Adam wants to start making a change! In 1895, Adam Teacher took the important step of purchasing land at the highest point in Aberdeenshire, 600 feet above sea level on the Northern Railway. The accessibility of the railways was key to wine making as materials could be transported from Glasgow to every corner of Scotland. Construction of the Ardmore distillery began in 1897, but unfortunately Adam Teacher passed away a year later.
Ardmore Distillery originally had only a pair of stills, but by 1974 it had eight uniquely shaped copper stills. The water used for making wine still comes from a spring on Knockandy Hill at 1,500 feet. So far, about 5 million liters of liquor are produced every year, which is a huge amount of whiskey production value that William Teacher could not have imagined in the past.
