Gevrey-Chambertin is renowned as one of the most powerful appellations in the Côte de Nuits, celebrated for its deep fruit aromas, robust structure, and exceptional aging potential. This "Vieilles Vignes" (Old Vines) cuvée is sourced from the estate's more mature vines; their deep root systems help maintain consistent ripening despite climatic fluctuations, resulting in a more concentrated and complex flavor profile. Following cold maceration, fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, and the wine is subsequently aged in French oak barrels for approximately 12 months (with about 10% new oak) to preserve fruit purity while enhancing structure and complexity.

Immediately helped you try this 2022 old rattan cloth root ground, transparent gem red, like a ruby shiny, looks very fairy-like. It smells of fresh, juicy red cherries and cranberries, like a whole tray of fruit laid out in front of you! A couple more shakes and it starts to come out with that fascinating forest surface, wet soil, and a little bit of chives.

When you enter the mouth, the texture is really smooth and silky, the wine is medium body but full of juicy (Juicy)! Gevrey-Chambertin D wine always feels very dominant, very heavy bone frame, but 2022 this vintage is really handled extremely beautiful, tannins are so fine that there is no "shoes" feeling, the whole wine is very vibrant and refreshing!

After swallowing it, the mineral and fruity aroma still remains in my mouth, and I can't help but want to pour another cup!

A fresh and transparent expression showing mushrooms, raspberries, orange zest and tea leaves on the nose. It’s medium-bodied, juicy and silky, with fine tannins and a delicious finish. Drink now or hold.

Established in 1865, the estate comprises 12 hectares of vineyards, with 80% classified as Village-level and 10% as Premier Cru and Grand Cru. It is currently managed by fourth-generation owner Chantal Tortochot, who took over the family business in the late 1990s and spearheaded the estate's modernization and transformation. Chemical treatments were eliminated in 2005, and the estate achieved organic certification in 2013. The vines have an average age of approximately 60 years, reflecting the estate's commitment to *terroir*.

Blending tradition with innovation, Chantal collaborates with consulting winemaker Sylvain Pataille. To address the challenges of global warming, they have recently introduced "whole-bunch fermentation" for about 25% of the production to enhance minerality and freshness, while simultaneously reducing the proportion of new oak barrels to preserve the purity of the fruit.
