1896年，Pillet-Will 公爵聘請 Pierre Moreau 負責酒莊管理。Pierre大膽地制訂了在酒莊內裝瓶葡萄酒的規定，這項規定於1924年開始實施，為瑪歌酒莊葡萄酒提供了有力的正品保障。1950年前後，Fernand Ginestet 和他的兒子 Pierre 入主酒莊。1977年，Ginestet 家族受經濟衰退的影響陷入財務危機，把酒莊出售給了 Andre Mentzelopoulos。
Andre 接手後，投入大量資金完善酒莊建設——開拓新葡萄園，重新栽種葡萄樹，安裝排水系統，並翻新城堡及酒窖。他雇用了有“現代釀酒學之父”之稱的 Emile Peynaud 擔任酒莊的釀酒顧問。在 Emile 的指導下，他對酒莊的副牌酒 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux 瑪歌紅亭和 Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux 瑪歌白亭設立了更嚴格的品質標準，引進使用新橡木桶陳釀，並規劃修建了梅多克第一個大型地下酒窖。在Andre的努力下，瑪歌酒莊重拾昔日輝煌，迎來了卓越的1978年份。1980年，Andre Mentzelopoulos 去世，他的女兒 Corinne Mentzelopoulos 從父親手中接過酒莊管理重任。
1983年，擁有釀酒學博士學位的農業工程師 Paul Pontallier 加入瑪歌酒莊，與莊主Corinne 共同推進 Andre 生前開展的改革計畫。1990年，Paul 正式出任瑪歌酒莊總經理一職，同年聘請農業工程師 Philippe Bascaules 協助酒莊管理。2016年3月28日，Paul 因癌症去世。2017年3月1日，Philippe 接任酒莊總經理一職。
瑪歌酒莊目前共占地262公頃，其中有99公頃葡萄園。紅葡萄園的法定產區為87公頃，其中種植面積為82公頃，而白葡萄園的種植面積則為12公頃。紅葡萄品種主要為Cabernet Sauvignon 赤霞珠、Merlot 梅洛、Petit Verdot 味而多和 Cabernet Franc 品麗珠；白葡萄品種為 Sauvignon Blanc 長相思，葡萄藤平均樹齡為45年。從20世紀90年代末開始，酒莊在葡萄園內拒絕使用殺蟲劑。此外，園內僅施用有機肥料，酒莊還會適時進行深層施肥以改善土壤結構及恢復土壤活力.
釀造 Winemaking
到了採收季，酒莊團隊會通過檢測分析各項指標及親自品嘗葡萄果實來挑選合適的採收時間。葡萄達到理想成熟狀態後，由200餘名經過專業訓練的採收工完成採摘。到達釀酒車間後，葡萄需經過嚴格的篩選才能進入去梗等環節。酒莊同時採用橡木桶及不銹鋼罐來發酵紅葡萄，白葡萄則全部使用橡木桶發酵。酒精發酵結束後，酒液會進行蘋果酸-乳酸發酵。而後，紅葡萄酒會被放置於橡木桶中熟成18-24個月，白葡萄酒則在橡木桶中熟成6-8個月。

This was phenomenal from barrel and remains so. The aromas are spellbinding. It smells like a bouquet of pink roses and then goes to currants, berries and citrus. Full body, with wonderfully refined tannins. It starts discretely and then grows to different levels and dimensions like a slow but big high tide. The texture is so beautiful.

The 2010 is a brilliant Chateau Margaux, as one might expect in this vintage. The percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the final blend hit 90%, the balance Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and only 38% of the crop made it into the Chateau Margaux. Paul Pontallier, the administrator, told me that this wine has even higher levels of tannin than some other extraordinary vintages such as 2005, 2000, 1996, etc. Deep purple, pure and intense, with floral notes, tremendous opulence and palate presence, this is a wine of considerable nobility. With loads of blueberry, black currant and violet-infused fruit and a heady alcohol level above 13.5% … its beautifully sweet texture, ripe tannin, abundant depth and profound finish all make for another near-perfect wine that should age effortlessly for 30-40 years.

resh and youthful aromas of understated curranty fruit with cedar, smoke, and spice accents lead to a silky, archetypical Margaux texture with silky tannins, perfect weight, balance, and impressive length. The edges of this wine - so evident en primeur - are now pleasantly rounded and supple, but there is no mistaking the power and ageability of this triumphant vintage.
