The region where the Montepulciano grape reaches its peak - Abruzzo
The large temperature difference between day and night in the Abruzzo mountain area allows the grapes to retain more complex aromas and bright acidity while reaching ripeness
Montepulciano is a relatively heavy tannin, rich and juicy, with the ability to age, relatively strong and powerful
Although Montepulciano is a fairly common grape in Italy, Montepulciano in the Abruzzo region definitely has the strength to enter the world stage

The more famous DOCG is Montepulciano d' Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG (Montepulciano. Tramane hills guaranteed legal area), this production area is located in Montepulciano d' Abruzzo DOC (Montepulciano legal area ), when you see the name of this production area, it is easy to confuse it with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a Tuscana wine, mainly brewed with Sangiovese; and Montepulciano d' Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG wine has a legal variety of 90 % Italian native grape Montepulciano and up to 10% Sangiovese. This misunderstanding is because the Italian word "Montepulciano" is a place name and a grape name.

It was not until the 1990s that the wine quality of this production area gradually became known to the world. The Montepulciano grape is grown in this area with great performance and extensive planting area, which can be used to make red wine and Cerasuolo rosé wine. In addition, Montepulciano grapes can also be used to make Passito dessert wine. The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo produced in this region is the most important red wine in the DOC category of this region.
