Marsannay is located at the northernmost point of Burgundy Cote d’Or (Golden Hill), so it is known as the Golden Gate. Although attention is often taken away by other outstanding nearby production areas (Gevrey Chambertin, Morey St Denis). But its quality is not inferior. With the impact of global warming, grapes with balanced flavors can be produced in warm years. This enables the local area to produce high-quality wine, making everyone pay more and more attention to this production area with great potential.
Marsannay’s terroir is diverse. It is not only affected by the cool maritime climate, but also by the southern continental climate. The 302-hectare production area is divided by numerous valleys. The soil is composed of limestone, pebbles, and clay, forming a unique terroir. It can be roughly divided into three regions: Chenôve, Marsannay-la-Côte and Couchey. Although, there are no Grand Cru and First Class Crus in the Marsannay production area. However, since 2005, we have continued to promote the classification plan of first-class gardens. Most wineries are now accustomed to releasing single-vineyard wines. Several vineyards are expected to be upgraded, and the most popular ones are currently Clos du Roy in the village of Chenôve and Longeroies to the north of the village of Marsannay-la-Côte.
Marsannay produces red, white and pink wines. The red wine produced locally is full of fruit, usually with aromas of cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, etc., and has an impactful and meaty taste; the white wine can be made with Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and a small amount of Pinot Gris, and its style is similar to Burgundy. The first production area, Cote Chalonnaise, is similar. It usually displays aromas of citrus and hawthorn, and has a full and round taste with a slight minerality. Marsanny's wines are suitable for drinking young. After aging, it can fully express the typical characteristics of the terroir. Marsannay's pink wine has a soft peach and berry aroma, is full and fresh, and has a pleasing and easy-drinking style.

He received assistance and guidance from Joseph Roty many times, and his winemaking philosophy was deeply influenced. The wine has the aroma of white flowers and is dominated by the flavors of lime and citrus fruits. You can feel the fruity taste of green apple, lemon and lemon in the mouth. It has a mineral taste at the end and a full and round taste, which is very suitable for drinking when you are young.
