ZTF949B - Chateau Bellegrave Pauillac 2017
Unit Price: $228/each
3pcs Discount: $624 (Average $208/each)
Region of Origin / Classification: France / Bordeaux / Pauillac
Grape varieties: 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot
Alcohol content: 14.5%
Ageing time in oak barrels: 45% new French barrels for 12 months
The wine is dominated by black fruits, and the oak ageing brings out the aromas without overpowering them. It also has bright acidity and powerful tannins, with only 29,000 produced in 2008. The growing season was initially harsh. However, the difference in temperature between hot days and cool nights allowed the grapes to ripen fully and extract the purest fruit flavours. The wines are more intense in flavour.
【Wine Enthusiast 92】
The vineyard of Bellegrave in the southern part of Pauillac has produced a softly textured wine in this lighter vintage. With hints of maturity and black-currant fruits that have mellowed well, the wine is almost ready to drink.
【James Suckling 91】
Aromas of currants and raspberries with burnt orange, too. Medium body, firm and tangy tannins and a juicy finish. Fresh and tight. Drink after 2021.

【Chateau Bellegrave】
Chateau Bellegrave is located in the south of Pauillac, between the famous Chateau Latour and Pichon-Longueville. Dating back to 1901, when it was owned by the Van der Voot family, the estate was once in crisis, with only 1.5 hectares of vineyards. In 1997, the Meffre family purchased the vineyard in 199, and in addition to Château Bellegrave, the Meffre family also owns Château Du Glana and Château Lalande, which is now run by Ludovic and Julien. The 8.3 hectare estate is planted with 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc on gravelly soils. The average age of the vines is 25 years.
