Casablanca. Chile's elegant side
100% of the wine comes from Casablanca, which is a cooler place in Chile. The Loma Larga wine garden has a limited area, and the owner hopes that every bunch of grapes is a boutique. For this purpose, by picking the best grapes by hand, an average of up to 6 tons of wine can be produced per hectare. In cold regions such as Casablanca, the grapes are kept rich and mature enough. The slow ripening of the grapes is due to extreme temperature changes during the day and night, and cold winds from the Pacific cause this phenomenon in the valleys. In addition to the barren soils of the mountains, Lomas and Cerro Foothills, this feature provides unique terroirs for wine!
idea
The idea of the Roman estate is to produce wines that faithfully express the terroir, promising to reflect the features this place offers in Casablanca, which has been researched and tested for more than 20 years, so it can stand out from most Chilean wines. For 5 years, the temperature and soil of 711 hectares of the Loma Larga estate have been studied. Since 1999, 148 hectares of white vineyards have been planted, some of which are not traditional vineyards in the Casablanca Valley, such as Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Shiraz. Since the first harvest, this avant-garde idea has succeeded and found the unlimited support of the domestic industry. For them, Casablanca wines have unusual characteristics, its freshness and great aroma potential. We are currently considered the main stronghold of Chile's cold climate red wines!
