Tasting Notes: This wine boasts a beautiful color, between garnet and purplish-red. Its aromas are rich and expressive, revealing fruit notes of currant, black cherry, plum, blackberry, and currant, accompanied by complex flavors of earth and tobacco. The palate is smooth, juicy, and vibrant, with firm yet silky tannins. A long, clean finish with rich flavors is achieved. It exhibits excellent structure and outstanding aging potential.

【Château Marquis de Terme Winery introduction】

Château Marquis de Terme was established as early as the Middle Ages, though the exact year is unknown. It truly came into its own in the 16th century, when it was owned by the Rauzan family. Subsequent family marriages brought the estate to the Marquis de Terme, where it was officially named Château Marquis de Terme. Under the careful management of the two families, the estate quickly gained a good reputation throughout the Bordeaux region.

At the end of the 18th century, US President Thomas Jefferson, a passionate enthusiast of French wines, visited the estate during a trip to Bordeaux and praised it highly. Following the death of the Marquis de Terme, the estate was sold to the Sollberg family, Bordeaux wine merchants, in the early 19th century. In 1834, it was forced to change hands again to another Bordeaux wine merchant. During this period, Château Marquis de Terme continued to produce acclaimed wines. In 1845, after paying off all debts, the Sollberg family regained control of the estate. Thanks to the previous period of success, the estate was classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 classification of Bordeaux estates, alongside other renowned Fourth Growths in the same appellation, such as Château Pouget.

All grapes at the estate are hand-picked, and only those that pass a rigorous selection process are used in the winemaking process. During winemaking, the estate uses gravity to transport the grape juice, rather than pumps. The juice is fermented in concrete tanks, stainless steel tanks, or temperature-controlled oak barrels, and the resulting wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 16-18 months (50% of which are new oak). Starting with the 2016 vintage, the estate also uses bottles with anti-counterfeiting and product tracking features to package its wines.
