[Chateau Pouget]
Chateau Pouget currently has 17 hectares of vineyards. The soil is gravel deposits from the Quaternary period and has excellent natural drainage. The average plant age is 37 years. As for the cultivation method, the traditional pruning method in the Médoc region is adopted, and at the same time the ecological balance is adopted in consideration of the ecological balance. The chemical fertilizer has not been used for more than 30 years. Speaking of the name of Baojuezhuang, it dates back to 1748, when a man named Antoine Pouget inherited the manor and named the manor after his own name, which is what we call Chateau Pouget today. In the 1855 winery rating, Baojue was rated as a fourth-class famous winery. Beginning in 1906, the Elie-Guillemet family took charge of Bourgeau, and Lucien Guillemet became a winemaker. Beginning in the 1930s, the Guillemet family, while operating Baojuanzhuang, also began to take over another third-level village of Bekatana, Boyd-Cantenac, just opposite Baojuanzhuang. Before 1982, wines from both estates were brewed and fermented in the same place. Since 1983, Baojuezhuang also has its own dedicated winemaking base!
