[Vigneron-Independant French Independent Winery Association Certification]
(Vignerons indépendants association member logo, (the minifigure holds a wine barrel on his arm, representing independent growers in France)
Vignerons indépendants de France (Vignerons indépendants de France; abbreviated as VIF) is a French viticulture industry association headquartered in Paris, dedicated to uniting and supporting small and independent French wineries.
For a relatively small and independent winery, it is difficult for the previous generation to compete with Bordeaux's aristocrats/big consortiums/brand-name wineries.
So for a winery like Domaine du Salut, there is no publicity like a big brand, how can it stand out? Let people know that although the winery is low-key, its strength is not inferior to the famous wineries.
Established in 1976, the French Independent Winery Association is like a small winery and a big alliance. There are now 7,000 wineries. The purpose is to unite small wineries and let the outside world know more about the original Bordeaux.
Both are wineries with a long history and extraordinary strength, while the lack of both is publicity and popularity.
Therefore, the association holds a wine fair called Vignerons Indépendants de Paris every year, the purpose is to open to the public to know more powerful but unknown brands
Domaine du Salut is one of the Vignerons Indépendants
【Cerons Noble Rot Wine Region】
Cerons is the appellation for sweet white wines from the southern regions of the Bordeaux wine region, Cerons, Illats and Podensac. The designation applies to wines produced from "overripe, noble rot and/or raisin grapes" as well as Muscadelle, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and (less commonly) Sauvignon Gris grape varieties.
Cerons owns just under 30 hectares (75 acres) of vineyards. It is largely overshadowed by its southern neighbors Sauternes and Barsac; few of these wines achieve the sweetness and concentration of flavors these appellations typically achieve. This is the result of a combination of factors.
Seron is adjacent to Sauternes and Barsac in the south. The sweet white wines of the latter two regions are rich in flavor and high in concentration, and are famous far and wide. Seron's sweet baijiu pales in comparison. Gradually, the halo of glory that shrouded Sauternes and Barsac made Seron be forgotten by everyone. This is caused by the following factors. First of all, the thick clay in the soil makes the temperature fluctuate little, making it difficult for early fog to form. Second, the low and flat terrain is difficult to create a suitable climate like the Sauternes production area. Another important geographical factor is that due to the low water temperature of Ciron from Landes, Bassac in the north of Sauternes is injected into the Garonne River with high water temperature. The mixture of cold and hot river water forms a humid mist, which makes it easy for nearby vineyards to grow. Noble rot. Finally, the region's less stringent legal system and higher grape yields than the other two regions make Seron's sweet white wines lack concentration.
【Aurelia and Frédéric Caumont - a couple who love wine】
Aurelia and Frédéric Caumont are a couple who love wine. Because of their love for wine, they returned from other places to their hometown Bordeaux in 2015, hoping to regain a simple life.
The couple noticed that Domaine du Salut is located on the Cérons plateau, on the special soil, and the wine showed a round and rich fruity taste.
So Qudi decided to acquire Domaine du Salut. It is committed to becoming a new independent grape grower and winemaker.
The wine made by the couple is simple and clear, the price is affordable, and there is only one purpose
I hope that everyone can drink wine with high cost performance at the most favorable price
【Bordeaux | Domaine du Salut in Graves】
Domaine du Salut is located in the heart of the designated area of Graves. Nearly 25 miles south of the center of Bordeaux, the Domaine du Salut covers 16 hectares.
"Graves" is equivalent to the English "Gravel", which means "sandstone". After precipitation and baptism in the long history of Bordeaux wine, it has become one of the highest quality producing areas in Bordeaux. Most of the soil structure in the production area is not like the deep gravel layer in the Haut-Medoc area. It is mostly a mixture of clay and gravel. The terrain is relatively flat and the climate is relatively warm.
