Vincent Cocherel is a Burgundy producer that has recently garnered attention for its meticulous selection of fruit and exceptional value for money.

The estate’s winemaking philosophy centers on "artisanal precision." Whether producing Bourgogne-level, village-level, or prestigious Premier Cru wines, the team relies heavily on hand-harvesting and parcel-specific management, aiming to faithfully preserve the delicate, elegant terroir characteristics of Pinot Noir in every bottle.

The Montrelie appellation in the Côte de Beaune of Burgundy, nestled on prime hillsides north of Vornay and south of Meursault, is a niche and highly promising boutique wine region. Montrelie comprises 99 hectares of village-level vineyards and 41 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, including 15 officially certified Premier Cru plots. Les Riottes is a particularly rare micro-Premier Cru, with a total area of only 0.75 hectares, making it one of the smallest Premier Cru vineyards in Montrelies. Its production is extremely limited, making it exceptionally valuable for collection and appreciation.

Les Riottes sits vertically in a valley called Combe Danay, boasting gentle slopes and an excellent east-facing levantage point, allowing it to enjoy the gentlest morning sunlight. This allows the Pinot Noir to mature perfectly during its long growing season while retaining excellent acidity.

Soil Structure: The soil here is primarily Bartonian clay and gravel (Argiles du Bathonien). This clay acts like a natural sponge, locking in moisture during dry years for the vine roots to absorb, thus giving the Pinot Noir wine a rich, full-bodied flavor.
