Alcohol content: 14.5%
Features: French oak barrels for 15 months. The brewing process is complicated and complicated. The wine is not filtered, and it also reflects the unique terroir characteristics and natural conditions of the place of origin. It has great aging potential.
Recommended serving temperature: 18-20 degrees
Recommended hangover time: 30-45 minutes

This one can be described in three words: smooth and thick. Deep ruby color, the aroma will stand out as soon as you open the bottle, very flattering, the taste of resin, clay and mushroom, with red fruits and berries in the mouth, it will be good in 20 minutes Slippery, tail with licorice and mint. At first you will feel the alcohol is irritating the throat, the spicy sensation, but this sensation completely disappears after 30-40 minutes. The smell of tobacco, caramel, spices, cherries and red fruits is more obvious, and it becomes sweet and sweet instantly. Easy to import, because of the aging of oak barrels aged for 15 months, the wine body is as smooth as velvet, and the roundness and complexity of the tongue are obviously felt, accompanied by the fine cloudiness and chocolate flavor. The tannins are fine and delicate, but the mouth is full of stiffness, and the body is medium to high. The sweetness is at least 6-8 seconds, which is very fine and long-lasting.

Brewing procedure:
The stemmed grapes are transferred directly to 400 liter French oak barrels (60% new barrels and 40% secondary). Due to the use of a rotating oak barrel-wheel system, the pre-fermentation impregnation is performed at 12 ° C for 5 days, and the rotation is performed twice a day. The fermentation tank was heated to 18 ° C for fermentation. Different batches were inoculated with yeast D80, D21 and portions fermented with natural yeast. Rotate the wine 3-4 times a day for 15 days. Dip at 32 ° C for 10 days with 1 or 2 spins per day. Fermentation with lactic acid in French oak barrels (60% secondary and 40% new barrels). Finally, it is aged for another 15 months in the same oak barrels before bottling. The wine is not filtered.

At present, most wines on the market have been filtered or clarified before leaving the factory, but Loma Larga insists on not filtering the wine, which can better reflect the unique terroir characteristics and natural conditions of the origin, and terroir is the soul of wine . The yeast in the unfiltered wine can be fully fermented before bottling. The brewed wine is more mellow, richer in taste and has great aging potential. The best and most natural state of wine is perfectly expressed.

[Single Vineyard Selected Single Vineyard]
From a specific vineyard, most wineries will spend more time and energy to maintain than the nearby vineyards, regardless of their size. To a certain extent, a single garden wine is better in quality than a wine of the same level, and it can better reflect the terroir characteristics of the producing area. A single vineyard has more advantages in terms of geography and terroir. The best balance of soil, landform, water source, temperature and other aspects can cultivate the highest quality grapes.

[Casablanca. Chile's elegant side]
100% of the wine comes from Casablanca, which is a cooler place in Chile. The Loma Larga wine garden has a limited area, and the owner hopes that each bunch of grapes is a boutique. For this purpose, by picking the best grapes by hand, an average of up to 6 tons of wine can be produced per hectare. In cold regions such as Casablanca, the grapes are kept rich and mature enough. The slow ripening of the grapes is due to extreme temperature changes during the day and night, and cold winds from the Pacific cause this phenomenon in the valleys. In addition to the mountainous barren soils, Lomas and Cerro Foothills, this feature provides unique terroirs for wine!

【idea】
The philosophy of the Roman estate is to produce wines that faithfully express the terroir, promising to reflect the features this place offers in Casablanca. It has been researched and tested for more than 20 years, so it can stand out from most Chilean wines. For 5 years, the temperature and soil of 711 hectares of the Loma Larga estate have been studied. Since 1999, 148 hectares of white vineyards have been planted, some of which are not traditional vineyards in the Casablanca Valley, such as Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Shiraz. Since the first harvest, this avant-garde idea has succeeded and found unlimited support from the domestic industry. For them, Casablanca wines have unusual characteristics, its freshness and great aroma potential. We are currently considered to be the main stronghold of Chile's cold climate red wines!

Rober Parker 90 points
I found more oak impact in the more expensive wine, the 2012 Rapsodia, which is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Somehow I prefer the varietal bottlings than this blend, which feels a little blurry, with the oak in the foreground and some bright blue aromas of undetermined fruit in the background. The palate is juicy with some toffee and oaky flavors, and fine tannins. This should feel more integrated with a little bottle age.
