First, please don't get confused. There are already several wineries named Bellegrave in Bordeaux, a Cru Bourgeois in Haut-Medoc, and another in Pomerol. Additionally, Haut-Medoc has two very similar estates: Chateau Bellegrave (Fifth Growth) and Chateau Bellegrave du Poujeau (Cru Bourgeois).

This particular estate is Chateau Bellegrave in Pauillac, and Chateau Bellegrave Les Charmes and Les Sieurs de Bellegrave are both wines produced under its umbrella. Chateau Bellegrave Pauillac covers only 9 hectares and was purchased in 1997 by the Meffre family, a third-generation family from the Rhône Valley. It boasts excellent terroir adjacent to prestigious estates like Lynch Bages and Grand-Puy-Lacoste, and is considered one of the most underrated boutique estates in Pauillac. The estate positions itself as a value-for-money option outside the classified growths.
