Founded in 1886, Maison Cordier is one of Bordeaux's classic century-old wineries, boasting a history of producing fine Bordeaux wines for over a century. Its wines are popular in more than 120 countries worldwide. The company owns renowned estates such as Desire Cordier, Labottiere Saint Julien, and Peieure des Cluleys de Meyney, encompassing almost all of Bordeaux's top wine regions, making it a prime representative of Bordeaux's world-class wine merchants. Today, Maison Cordier not only holds a pivotal position in France but is also more dedicated than ever to reforming and innovating its wine quality.
Bellenos is now part of the group, bringing together the wisdom of outstanding grape growers and winemakers from Burgundy and Beaujolais. Led by the Burgundy winemaking genius Nicolas Potel, the aim is to produce Burgundy wines that possess both balance and purity, free from excessive oak influence or traces of over-extraction. Every sip is authentic, perfectly showcasing the unique terroir and vintage characteristics of the vineyards.
It's worth mentioning that in early 2007, Wine Spectator magazine published a ranking of newly released wines from various regions, and a 2003 merchant wine unexpectedly beat many renowned estates to become the champion of the Burgundy region. This outstanding Chambertin Grand Cru was produced by the young merchant Nicolas Potel. Renowned wine critic Clive Coates called his talent innate!
"I won't change my wines to cater to trends or everyone's tastes. I love nature and purity; I only strive to improve quality and restore their individual character." - Nicolas Potel
