Château La Lagune is a renowned "Third Growth" estate. Its history dates back to the 16th century, and it experienced difficult times in its early years. In 1958, when George Brunette purchased the estate, only a few hectares of vineyards were still productive. He implemented a sweeping reform program that would ultimately restore Château La Lagune to prominence. However, financial demands were significant, and the estate changed hands several times before being taken over by the Frey family, a Swiss financial group, in 2000. Caroline Frey, the youngest daughter of the group, led the winemaking team. They not only comprehensively upgraded the winemaking equipment but also actively reformed the vineyard cultivation process and winemaking techniques, earning the reinvigorated Château La Lagune the acclaim of wine critics worldwide.

Today, Chateau La Lagune has been restored to its former glory, taking great care to preserve its authenticity and elegance. The winery's vineyards are a mixture of sandy soil and gravel over gravel. Currently, the 80 hectares are planted with 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot. The winery operates under three distinct labels, each representing a distinct style: the grand vin Chateau La Lagune, the second vintner Moulin de la Lagune, and the selected wine, Mademoiselle L.
