Tasting notes: Bright light golden colour on the outside, with intense aromas of stone fruits (peaches, apricots) and tropical fruits, with hints of citrus (lime and grapefruit). These aromas are complemented in the background by spicy notes that give it elegance and herbal tones (hay, fig) with very varied aniseed. It has a good acidity that gives it freshness and a long, powerful finish. The finish is herbal and spicy with some citrus notes (grapefruit and lime) very well balanced!!!!

About the winery: A young entrepreneur by the name of Eduardo Poza set out to develop an ambitious product that would re-establish the identity of the Verdejo grape. A lifelong lover of Verdejo wines, he created ‘VERDEAL’, a modern brand focused on the DO Rueda region with its own varietal identity and DNA Verdeal is an ongoing project that aims to satisfy complex tastes, create an enduring brand, and continue to focus on its geographical area as a source of inspiration. 20 DE ABRIL is a new creation from Verdeal, the name of the wine means 20th April and it is named in honour of the birth date of the daughter of Eduardo Poza, the winery's alma mater. Organic farming is carefully tended, using natural techniques to increase the aromatic intensity, flavour and antioxidant protection of the wines. The flavours are dominated by a delicate nose of stone fruits, tropical fruits and citrus. Excellent value for money and suitable for vegetarians.

Verdejo (‘Vurr-day-ho’) is a rare, light-bodied white wine grown almost exclusively in Spain. A great alternative to wines such as Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio, this wine changes surprisingly in flavour with age; Verdejo makes subtle, charming whites with flavours of lime, Meyer lemon, grapefruit, grass, aniseed and citrus blossom. It is often compared to Sauvignon Blanc, but in reality, it deserves its own category. Unlike most white wines, Verdejo continues to improve through years of bottle ageing, where it acquires the rich texture and flavour of toasted Marcona almonds, complemented by sparkling acidity. Bitter flavours of grass and aniseed emerge on the finish.

The Rueda region is home to the largest number of Verdejo vines in the world. Many parts of the Rueda have deep, sandy soils that are naturally resistant to phylloxera. Some of these sandy vineyards are centuries old and produce some of the most expressive Verdejo wines.
