Famous winemaker in Tuscany / Toscana, Italy
Rancore (screaming) This wine is the retreat of Andrea Paoletti, the former chief winemaker of Marchesi Antinori. Andrea Paoletti is a well-known winemaker (disciple of the late Italian legendary winemaker Giulo Gambelli) from Toscana, Italy. He is also a well-known agriculturist and the initiator of Super TuscanTignanello (Tina), one of the famous Italian wines. He is a founder and has served as a wine consultant for many famous Italian wines.
With an annual output of only 5,000 bottles, join the beloved Pinot Noir
Andrea named "Rancore" a red wine made with three red grapes, Sangiovese, Merlot and Pinot Noir, with an annual output of only 5,000 bottles. Andrea said, "Sangiovese is definitely the core grape variety of Toscana. I naturally regard it as the main blend of "Rancore", accounting for 85%; and 15% Merlot brings more international taste, the remaining 5% Pinot Noir fully expresses his preference for this grape variety.

"Visiting Andrea Paoletti's winery, to put it simply, it's just a residence, nothing like what one might imagine a winery to be like. Behind the house is just a simple shed containing only a few stainless steel and concrete vats for winemaking. Inside, there's a small room for storing oak barrels—the only air-conditioned place in the entire house. Andrea mentioned that he'd rather forgo his own enjoyment than leave it for the wine. If Bordeaux wineries like Valandraud, Le Pin, and La Dome are considered "garage wines," what technical terms can describe Andrea's even smaller and more rudimentary winemaking place? Having visited over thirty or forty different types of wineries in Italy, even small family-run operations, I've never encountered a one-person winery. Stepping into Andrea's backyard, the winemaking area, completely overturned my experience. I never imagined such high-quality Rancore could be produced in such a place!
Or perhaps it perfectly illustrates the saying:
"A master craftsman uses only the simplest tools to create something truly amazing."

Rancore is entirely Andrea's one-man winery, a project he's been creating since his retirement. He prefers to do things his own way and doesn't like others interfering in his "private garden." Even the bottling and capping processes are all done by him personally, producing only around 5,000 bottles annually. Now, it has a considerable following in Taiwan, Japan, and even mainland China. Given Andrea's advancing age and the lack of a successor, this small, exclusive vineyard is perhaps the final, beautiful chapter in Andrea's legacy in the world of wine, a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship after his peak with top-tier wines like Tignaello and Solaia. Let's cherish this old man's hard work and skill, because he's not running a wine company or a winemaking family; he's just an elderly man living alone. Who knows how many more vintages of his he will enjoy in the future?

Tasting Notes:
-Rancore has been aged for 7 years. The wine has a ruby color with a pomegranate edge. The aroma is already overflowing when it opens. A burst of black plum, cloth, salty, chocolate, oak barrel aromas, the taste and aroma of the mouth are one. To;
-One hour after sobering up, the strongest is the aroma of chocolate, with a slight leather smell; 😋 The taste becomes more unrestrained, with more mature black cherries, coffee, and licorice; adding a layer! The silky tannins had the shadow of Tignanello at the beginning, and became stronger and firmer after sobering up; with acidity, the wine was well balanced.
-Surprisingly, there is a long aftertaste, with an aftertaste of more than 10 seconds, with the flavors of chocolate, black plum and mature black cherry.
-After the actual test, the editor thinks that this wine is still very energetic.
Andrea's life dream: build your own winery-the birth of Rancore
It was not until 1995 that Andrea finally fulfilled his life dream: to build his own winery, even if it was just a vineyard! In 1997, Andrea planted a 1-hectare vineyard at the junction of Chianti Mountain in Martino a Strada, and 7000 vines were planted in a high-density limestone and limestone soil at a height of 200 meters. Thus, Rancore was born from Andrea's own family-owned garage winery-Casanova (Casanova) from the vineyard to the wine cellar.
Use the famous European painting "Rancore" (scream) as the wine label
Andrea found "Rancore" (scream), the representative work of the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch (Edward Munch), the father of the pioneer of European expressionism, for "Rancore" as the wine label. On May 3, 2012, the New York Sotheby's Impressionist and Modern Art special auction, the version (third edition) "Scream", created in 1895, was sold for $119.9 million.
