Polmos Żyrardów Distillery is located in the small town of Zyrardów in central Poland. It was founded in 1910 and is one of the oldest vodka distilleries in Poland that is still in operation. The distillery originally focused on producing traditional Polish vodka. In 1993, it began to focus on brewing the Belvedere brand. After being acquired by the luxury group LVMH in 2002, it became a core member of its high-end spirits territory.
The brand name comes from the Belvedere Royal Palace in Warsaw. The bottle design is inspired by the snowy scenery of the palace, combining classic and modern luxury. The distillery also revived the 18th-century malt brewing tradition and launched the Heritage 176 series, which shows a deeper flavor through germination and roasting of rye. In addition to the classic original flavor, the distillery has developed a Maceration infusion series, such as mango, pink grapefruit and other flavors. These products retain the natural aroma of fruits through low-temperature distillation technology, and are not filtered by carbon before bottling to avoid destroying the flavor.
The distillery is based on the traditional Polish vodka brewing technology and combines modern refined management to form a unique production system:
Selected raw materials: Only Dankowskie rye, a local Polish rye, is used. This rye is rich in protein and natural sugars, which can give vodka the flavor of nuts and bread. All grains come from eight surrounding cooperative farms, achieving 100% traceability and ensuring stable quality.
Four distillations: After fermentation, the rye is first crudely distilled in an agricultural distillery, and then transferred to the Belvedere distillery for four consecutive distillations, and finally a pure liquor with an alcohol content of 96% is obtained. This process can not only retain the original flavor of rye, but also remove impurities, making the body of the wine extremely smooth.
Double filtration: The distilled liquor is first passed through an activated carbon bed to absorb impurities, then mechanically fine-filtered, and finally mixed with local artesian well water to 40% alcohol content before bottling. Polish regulations strictly prohibit the addition of artificial ingredients, so Belvedere relies entirely on the flavor of the raw materials themselves.
