In 1988, our family group asked me to writea new page in the history of this great growth. We defined the spirit in whichwe wanted to do this from the very first: to make quality an absolute priorityand to do everything possible to express Branaire-Ducru’s intrinsic personalityand complexity. `Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, our wines expresstheir character year in, year out with great regularity, displaying an enormousamount of fruit, freshness, and subtlety. The winemaking team is fully devotedto highlighting these characteristics in every vintage, and Branaire-Ducru isinvariably an elegant wine and a quintessential Saint-Julien.
We are delighted whenever we think aboutthe pleasure and emotions Branaire-Ducru provides to wine enthusiasts aroundthe world.
Jean-Baptiste Braneyre, the first person toown the estate in 1680, was well aware of the superb winegrowing potential ofthe gravelly soil located a stone’s throw from the Gironde estuary. The 1855classification was later to confirm the quality of our terroir.

Branaire-Ducru and its prestigiousneighbours form a group of châteaux that are famous the world over for theirexcellent wines.

This is very nicely done with currants and hints of dark chocolate and cedar on the nose and palate. It’s medium-to full-bodied with polished, creamy tannins and a delicious finish. Youthful, but drinking beautifully now.

Very pure and expressive, featuring lovely violet and cassis aromas and flavors that stream forth, backed by light anise and graphite hints. Maintains a fresh feel through the finish, with light minerality engaging with the fruit. Best from 2019 through 2028.

Spicy, rich and full of ripe fruit, this wine has great potential. It is structured and dense while bringing out a stylish elegance. Blackberry fruit dominates the tannins to create a wine that has both concentration and fine fruit.
